About Us

Founded in 1947 as Abraham E. Goldstein Box Company, the current Imperial Packaging Corporation was purchased by Ronald Felici in 1982 from the Goldstein Estate.

At the time of the acquisition the company operated two distinct divisions; one to distribute paper products and the other to manufacture chipboard folding cartons. The paper division was immediately divested to concentrate on the core business of manufacturing folding cartons. The sixteen employees ran approximately 10 million boxes annually shipping primarily to customers in Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts.

Back then the company primarily ran plain or One-color boxes for only a few traditional industries. Imperial serviced the Textile, Jewelry, and Electrical manufacturing and Meat provision companies. We also guillotined chipboard pads and either band-sawed or slotted corrugated partitions.

The equipment then consisted of a 60" 2,/C Meihlie printing press run "dry offset" along with three 60" and one 54" Meihlie "cylinder Die Cutters. All the cartons were glued on an International Straight-Line or two Right-Angle gluers.

Today Imperial Packaging has modernized its operation and converts over 100 million units of various paperboard packaging including folding cartons, packers, tags, inserts, headers and blister cards.

We never abandoned our roots in the plain and single color industrial packaging but now offer value added multicolor printing to a multitude of various industries. Today we print with 56" Six-Color Man Roland presses both conventional offset and Hybrid UV Curable Inks and coatings.

The converting operations are run with state-of-the-art Bobst equipment, including Autoplaten Die Cutters and electronic gluers. Our Bobst Domino has Hot-melt capability along with UPC verifiers. We offer Hot Stamping, Window Patching and Sheet-to Sheet Laminating for a diverse mix of value added carton options. We offer structural CAD design, EDI, inventory management and other ancillary services.

Today Imperial Packaging services a larger number of industries throughout New England: Computers & Electronics, Pharmaceutical & Medical Device, Wholesale & Retail foodservice, Cosmetics & Toiletries, Toys, Crafts & Hobbies, Lawn & Garden, Housewares & Consumer products.

The company's four-person management team has a combined 63 years experience to offer our customers and their various packaging needs. Steven Felici and Robert Gilmore are company Vice Presidents of Sales and Manufacturing. Gregg Theriault is our Controller and Dana Saunders is Purchasing and Customer Service manager.
